Compliance
What is POPIA?
The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) is South Africa’s data-protection law, regulating how organisations collect, process, store and share personal information. It is broadly comparable to the EU’s GDPR.
For contact centres, POPIA means strict rules on identity verification, consent, and protecting personal data on calls. A POPIA breach — disclosing information to the wrong party, for instance — is a serious compliance failure.
QUALICORE lets teams build POPIA obligations into the scorecard as compliance criteria, scored independently with fatal-fail logic and a tamper-evident audit trail.
